Additional permission settings & group permissions

It would be great (though less FF) to provide a more comprehensive permissions infrastructure. Features could then be hooked into it so they can be allowed or disallowed to users.
Along the same lines, we have more need for group (departmental) permissions than individual ones.

We are planning to get started on this later this year (perhaps September 2011). We will discuss it on the related developers discussion thread
The first step we are planning towards is to integrate CanCan into the core of FFCRM.

I would also like to have more detailed permissions, e.g. for financial information and for some contact details
