Disable a lead when converted

In SalesForce, a lead that is converted is no longer accessible. Instead it links you over to the account page (I think it also copies the communications stream for you.) Is there a reason FFCRM is not like this? Especially with regards to disabling the lead.

I guess it makes sense, especially copying over communication trail. I'll need to check it out before introducing similar functionality in FFC.
