Adding arbitrary dates does not seem to work for tasks

Reported by Scott Miller | May 20th, 2009 @ 01:52 PM | in 0.9.7 "Steinitz"

I tried specifying an arbitrary date for a task due date, and it would not go through. I tried both formats: 05-27-08 and mysql 2008-05-27 and neither would work. Perhaps a date picker would also be a nice touch. I recommend calendar_date_select (gem or plugin.)

    @scott :-

         It is giving a datepicker for due date on task. This i tried an hr ago after pulling the latest version. Can you tell in which tab you were trying to create the task ?

    Cheers,
    Deepu.

    Deepu, I think Scott has in mind scenario when you press [Esc] to get rid of the date picker, or just ignore it and type the date by hand. I guess date validation code could be a bit smarter and accept a few most common date formats.

    Actually, it was not working correctly on my fork, but I just pulled in the latest from master and it is working as expected there. Not sure what the issue is with my fork cause I haven't changed anything, but I will get to the bottom of it!
