Tasks whose due date is set with the calendar widget cannot be completed

If you set the due date for a task using the calendar widget, it is not possible to complete the task. When you click the checkbox to mark the task as complete, it appears to work, but when you refresh the tasks page, the task will reappear.
I have written a failing spec for this: http://github.com/pccl/fat_free_crm/commit/3dbe523014a76f4e19594428...
This fails with the following message:
Validation failed: Calendar can't be blank, Please specify valid date.
